Workshop/APD’s architectural face lift blends old and new


When tasked with combining two buildings from different eras into a cohesive whole, Workshop/APD knew it was in for a challenge. The result was well worth the effort: 88 & 90 Lexington, the new NoMad development from HFZ, retains the prewar styling of 88 Lexington while taking modern inspiration from the 1960s-era 90 Lexington to create something that is uniquely Manhattan. The entire project is clad in a limestone façade that preserves the older aesthetic while allowing for floor-to-ceiling windows in the newer building. Inside, the former offices in 90 Lexington have been converted into condominiums that still feature a diversity of layouts without sacrificing convenience or comfort. Read Article
